Welcome to Tycon Japanese Akita Inus. We are a small, family run show kennels in South Wales. We have imported, lived with and loved  this breed long before its official recognition by the British Kennel Club. We have produced Japanese Akita Inu champions and also an international champion.

With this long overdue updated website we will be sharing our wealth of experience in this wonderful breed but we also aim to educate and advise potential owners having researched the breed and only imported  the very best lines, that have not only proven themselves in the show ring  but also, more importantly, have met  our exacting standards with regards to health, breeding and temperament.

In the coming months we will be publishing articles relating to;

  • Japanese Akita Inu puppies, what to look for when you visit a breeder.
  • Choosing the right pup.
  • Choosing the right stud dog.
  • Whelping advice.
  • Health screening.
  • Importing a dog in to the country and exporting.
  • Exercise requirements and behavioural traits.

Please feel free to suggest a topic and we will do our best to cover it in the next update..

We were responsible for importing the first Japanese Akita Inu Champion in to the UK, French champion Umon Go Yonaiyamasow for Tycon who was a wonderful ambassador for the breed and is behind numerous European champions. Umon sadly passed away at the ripe old age of fourteen and you can see a fitting tribute to him on the Rainbow bridge.  Having imported many others from France and Poland,we are continually striving to source happy, healthy dogs from unrelated lines.
